United States of America proposed Food Additives Permitted in Feed and Drinking Water of Animals, Ammonium Formate and Formic Acid

Food and Drug Administration (FDA) proposed food additive regulations for food additives permitted in feed and drinking water of animals to provide for the safe use of formic acid and ammonium formate. This action is in response to a food additive petition filed by BASF Corp for Feed Grade Sodium Formate (FAP 2286), which also proposed to amend the animal food additive regulations for formic acid and ammonium formate to limit formic acid and formate salts from all added sources.
