Brazil proposed quarantine pest Sternochetus mangiferae in mango fruits

Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply proposed Recognize, for internal control purposes, the detection of the missing quarantine pest Sternochetus mangiferae, which has as an exclusive host the hose (Mangifera indica), in mango fruits from non-commercial areas located in the municipalities of Paracambi , Rio de Janeiro and Seropédica, belonging to the metropolitan region of the city of Rio de Janeiro, of the State of Rio de Janeiro. Declare the indicated municipalities as a prohibited zone and prohibit the transit of mango fruits produced in those municipalities for undesirable areas.
