No. 24544 dated 11 August 2017, and No. 24527 dated 10 August 2017, which indicate that Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza Virus (HPAI) outbreaks have occurred in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Philippines, and in compliance with the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) Terrestrial Animal Health Code Chapter 10.4, it is deemed necessary for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to prevent the entry of HPAI into the country. Therefore, the import of live birds, hatching eggs and one-day old chicksfrom the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Philippines to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is temporarily suspended. Outbreaks of HPAI were reported in the Lao People's Democratic Republic and Philippines by official announcement of the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE). The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is instituting this emergency measure to prevent the introduction of HPAI into the country.
