Chile establishes phytosanitary import requirements for nuts in shell for the consumption of walnuts (Juglans regia) from India

Agricultural and Livestock Service establish the following phytosanitary import requirements for nuts in shell for the consumption of walnuts (Juglans regia) from India.

In order to enter the country, the consignment must be covered by an official Phytosanitary Certificate, issued by the phytosanitary authority of the country of origin, which contains the following additional declarations:

- The consignment was subjected to fumigation treatment with phosphine under pressure Normal atmospheric, indicated in number 3 of this Resolution for the control of Alcidodes porrectirostris (Marshall) (Sin: Neomecyslobus porrectirostris) (Col .: Curculionidae);

-  The shipment underwent a treatment for the control of Trogoderma granarium (Col .: Dermestidae).

The following phosphine fumigation treatment will be accepted for the control of Trogoderma granarium (Coleoptera: Dermestidae) and Alcidodes porrectirostris (Marshall) (Sin: Neomecyslobus porrectirostris) (Col .: Curculionidae), which should be specified in Section III Of the Phytosanitary Certificate, indicating product, dose, exposure time, temperature and date of treatment.

 PRODUCT: PHOSPHINE (normal atmospheric pressure)

DOSE TIME OF EXPOSURE MINIMUM PRODUCT TEMPERATURE (g PH3 / m3) (days) (° C) 95> 21 ° C

The fumigation treatment must be supervised by an inspector from the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation & Farmers Welfare (DAC & FW) and conducted by the NPPO or companies licensed and registered by DAC & FW.

The treatment of the game must be carried out a maximum of one month before the export of the shipment.

 Shipments, once subjected to the fumigation treatment, must be kept at the place of collection, during dispatch and transportation to Chile.

 Shipping must come free of soil and other plant remains.

Containers must be of first use, not allowed to be reshipped, closed, resistant to handling and labeled or labeled in accordance with current SAG regulations.

The wood of the packaging and pallet, as well as the wood used as accommodation material must comply with the quarantine regulations for entry to the country.

 The packaging material must be suitable for any quarantine treatments at the points of entry.

Upon arrival in the country, the consignment will be inspected by the professionals of the Agricultural and Livestock Service present at the port of entry, who will verify compliance with the phytosanitary requirements and conditions, and with the attached documentation, resolve the pertinence of their Internment or the adoption of the measures that are appropriate according to the current legislation

Proposed date of adoption (day / month / year): Upon publication in the Official Gazette.

Proposed date of publication (day / month / year): 80 days from the date of distribution of the notification.

Proposed date of entry into force: [] Six months from the date of publication, and / or (day / month / year): To be published in the Official Gazette. [] Trade facilitation measure
