Chile Establishes phytosanitary import requirements for nuts with and without hazelnut husk (Corylus avellana) from Argentina

Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) lays down the phytosanitary import requirements for hazelnuts with and without hazelnuts ( Corylus avellana) from Argentina: 1. The consignment must be protected by an Official Phytosanitary Certificate, presented in original, issued by the phytosanitary authority of the country of origin, without additional declarations; 2. The consignment must come free of soil and other vegetable remains; 3. The packaging must be of first use, not allowed to be reshipped, closed, resistant to manipulation and labeled or labeled according to current SAG regulations; 4. The wood of the packaging and pallet, as well as the wood used as accommodation material must comply with the quarantine regulations for entry to the country; 5. The packaging material must be suitable for possible quarantine treatments at the points of entry; 6. Upon arrival in the country, the consignment will be inspected by the SAG professionals present at the port of entry, who will verify compliance with the phytosanitary requirements and conditions, and with the attached documentation, resolve the pertinence of their hospitalization or Adoption of the measures that are appropriate according to the current legislation.
