Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources has published a final report on a risk assessment of the animal and human health risks associated with imported captive non-human primates. Importation of captive non-human primates will be permitted subject to biosecurity legislation, and the application of sanitary measures. The report identifies and categorizes hazards of biosecurity concern associated with the importation of captive non-human primates and includes a review of disease agents.
