EU - Proposing 2-octyl-isothiazol-3(2H)-one as an active substance for use in biocidal products of product-type 8

European Commission has issued notification on draft regulation approves 2‑octyl-isothiazol-3(2H)-one as an active substance for use in biocidal products of product‑type 8.

The objective behind this measure is to protection of public health and of the environment and Harmonisation of the EU market on biocidal products.

Proposed date of adoption: End of June 2017

Proposed date of entry into force: 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU (Application from January 2018)

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
