Chile – Draft basic safety analysis and/or test protocol for electrical products  (double-capped LED lampsfor general lighting purposes)

Superintendencia de Electricidad y Combustibles, SEC (Electricity and Fuel Board) has notified Protocol establishes the electrical product safety certification procedure for double-capped LED lampsfor general lighting purposes designed to retrofit luminaires that use linear fluorescent lampsand have the following characteristics:

• G5 and G13 caps;
• a rated power up to 125 W;
• a rated voltage up to 250 V.

These lamps are designed to replace fluorescent lamps without requiring any modification of the internal wiring of the luminaires.  

This Protocol does not cover LED lamps where modification of the luminaires is required.
