UAE proposes control scheme of organic inputs and products

Emirates Authority for Standardization and Metrology (ESMA) proposes scheme covers all products that will be imported or displayed in UAE markets, which will be distinguished by "organic" or advertised as organic product according to the provisions of this decree.

Requirements

It covers the following requirements:

• Grant the license for concerned parties
• Conformity Assessment Bodies
• Expanding the scope of licensing
• Import
• The Mark and rules of using it
• Labelling and rules of using it
• Market and ports (border crossing) surveillance
• Suspension and cancel of license
