Chinese Taipei proposed amendments to legal inspection requirements for static converters, power supplies and other products

The Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) proposes to make the following major revisions to streamline the inspection requirements:

1.            To revise the inspection scope for static converters and power supplies by removing those designed for HI-END audio. In addition, instead of requiring compliance with both CNS 14336-1 and CNS 14408 in terms of their safety, compliance with either one will be sufficient; and

2.            To adjust the modules applicable to audio-video products under the Registration of Product Certification Scheme.

Products covered: Static converters; - Audio-frequency electric amplifiers; Video recording or reproducing apparatus, whether or not incorporating a video tuner; Radar apparatus, radio navigational aid apparatus and radio remote control apparatus; Reception apparatus for television, whether or not incorporating radio- Broadcast receivers or sound or video recording or reproducing apparatus; video monitors and video projectors
