Japan seek to revise a part of notifications to define the details of the safety standards for road transport vehicles

Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) wanted to revise Automated driving technology consists of sophisticated and complex sensing devices and electronic control devices. If these devices fail, the expected functions may not be exhibited, and malfunctions may occur. Therefore, in order to establish a function confirmation method that goes down to the electronic control devices, we established the "Study Group on the Way of Car Inspection Method Using an OBD (On-Board Diagnostics)" and examined the car inspection method (e-PTI : Periodical Technical Inspection) using an OBD.
