India publishes draft Food Safety and Standards (Safe food and Healthy diets for School Children) Regulations, 2019 A healthy food make our kids feel better, grow better and learn better and right eating habits can be engrained in the children from a young age. With the aim to ensure safe and wholesome food for school children, FSSAI has proposed a draft regulation titled Food Safety and Standards (Safe Food and healthy diets for School Children) Regulations, 2019. At the heart of these regulations is a central idea to make clear what is healthy for children and what is not. Pre-draft of these regulations were also notified to the WTO on 2 March 2018 vide G/SPS/N/IND/205, in which some modifications have been made and hence it is proposed to notify the modified draft to WTO Member countries.
