Spain issues phytosanitary technical standard that wood packaging must comply with Modification of Order AAA / 458/2013, of March 11, 2019 , to allow the treatment of used packaging, which is the wooden packaging that has not been treated and marked as established in ISPM 15. Products covered: Packaging of wood thicker than 6 millimeters, such as drawers, boxes, cages, drums and similar containers, pallets, box pallets and other loading platforms, pallet collars, stowage logs, used or not for the transport of goods of all kind Exclude: a) The raw wood of a thickness equal to or less than 6 mm; b) Wooden packaging made entirely of wood material under processing, such as plywood, particle board, fiber-oriented boards or sheet metal sheets produced using glue, heat or pressure, or a combination thereof; c) The barrels for wine and spirits that have been heated during manufacture, so that it can be ensured that they are free of pests, under the terms required by this order; d) Gift boxes for wine, cigars and other products made of wood that have been processed or manufactured in such a way that they are free of pests; e) Sawdust, wood shavings and wool; f) Wood components permanently installed in vehicles or containers used for freight HS Codes: 44 Proposed date of adoption: November 29, 2019 Proposed date of entry into force: January 2, 2020 Final date for comments: November 24, 2019 |
