Australia issued Maximum Residue Limit of Imazapyr in barley

Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) seeks to amend the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code (the Code) to align the maximum residue limit (MRL) for imazapyr in barley with that in the domestic APVMA MRL standard and Codex.

  • The MRL for imazapyr in the Code is to be increased from 0.05 mg/kg to 0.7 mg/kg.

Products covered: Foods sold in Australia (both imported and domestically produced)

HS Codes: 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24

Proposed date of adoption: FSANZ Board approval anticipated December 2019.

Proposed date of entry into force:  Date of Gazettal and registration of legislative instrument pending Government consideration (see 10. above).
