Republic of Korea has amended Special Act on Imported Food Safety Control

Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), Republic of Korea is adding changes to the "Special Act on Imported Food Safety Control". Foreign food facilities that comply with ‘Food safety management certification standards' of the Food Sanitation Act will be acknowledged as ‘Facilities adopting food safety management certification standards'.

The items prescribed by Ordinance of the Prime minister will be allowed for importation to the extent that these items are produced, manufactured, processed, treated, packaged, stored from facilities adopting imported food safety management certification standards.

This notification also clarifies renewal procedures of Good Importer and Good Foreign Food Facility at the expiration of the period of validity.
