Chile introduced Meters for cold drinking water and hot water - Part 1: Metrological and technical requirements

Ministry of Public Works (MOP) published standard specifies the meteorological and technical requirements for new meters of cold and hot drinking water, which passes through a closed and fully filled duct. These water meters incorporate devices that indicate the integrated volume.

In addition to water meters based on mechanical principles, this standard applies to devices based on electrical or electronic principles, and mechanical principles that incorporate electronic devices, used to measure the volume of cold or hot drinking water.

This standard also applies to electronic auxiliary devices. Auxiliary devices are optional. However, it is possible that the Competent Authority could make some auxiliary devices mandatory.
