India published Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2019.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has published regulations prescribing the amendment relating to inclusion of standard of monk fruit, standards for biscuits, bread and bread-type products, jowar (sorghum grains), maida (refined wheat flour), semolina (suji or rawa), breakfast cereal, pearl millet flour, sorghum flour, sucralose, cumin (whole & powder), iron fortified common salt, dried thyme, review of gluten free and low gluten product standard, trehalose , inclusion of tocopherols in the food category 1.7 "dairy based dessert", limits of benzoates in the food category 14.1.4 and 14.1.4.2, additional processing aids for use in various food categories, microbiological standards for egg and egg products and procedures /protocols for retesting of microbiologically contaminated samples.
