India proposed The Steel and Steel Products (Quality Control) Order, 2019 Ministry of Steel and Bureau of Indian Standards proposed Order seeks to ensure conformity to essential requirements listed in the Table 2 for the specified products Stampings/ laminations/ cores of Transformers (with or without winding). The Order read together with ITC (HS), 2017 Schedule 1 – Import Policy (General Notes Regarding Import Policy) applies to domestic production as well as imports. The Order also makes it mandatory for all manufacturers /importers of Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes as given in the Table 2 of the order that Stainless Steel Pipes and Tubes shall be accompanied with the test certificate of the stainless steel products specified in the corresponding Indian Standard given in the column (2) of the Table 1. Further, no person shall manufacture, store for sale, sell, distribute or import any such products given in the Table 2, which do not conform to the requirements specified in Table 2.
