Tanzania Bureau of Standards proposed:

1.1 This Standard prescribes the requirements for quicklime and hydrated lime suitable for the following chemical and Industrial uses; bleaching powder, paper, textiles, varnishes, sugar, calcium carbide, soda ash, caustic soda, water treatment, tanning and grease manufacturing.

1.2 This standard does not cover lime for building, agricultural, metallurgical, glass and ceramic industries
