Mexico proposed Energy efficiency for LED luminaires for road lighting and public outdoor areas. Specifications and test methods

Secretariat of Energy proposed specifications and test methods that favor the efficient use of energy in light emitting diodes (LEDs) are established, intended for road lighting and public outdoor areas.

Excluded from the field of application are the products that are established in another Official Mexican Standard regarding energy efficiency, as well as the following LED luminaires:

• Whose lighting source is exclusively LED lamps integrated with threaded base.

• For decorative or ornamental lighting of public outdoor areas,

• For signaling,

• With emission of changing light colors or monochromatic light (green, red, yellow, blue, etc.).

To be installed on floor, under water, in classified or hazardous areas.
