EU proposes Regulation applies to household dishwashers Commission Regulation applies to household dishwashers (including built-in household dishwashers and electric mains-operated household dishwashers that can also be powered by batteries) to be placed on the EU market. The draft regulation lays down minimum energy performance requirements, in particular on maximum power demand in active mode and for the low power modes of household dishwashers; appropriate requirements contributing to circular economy objectives in particular, requirements on resource efficiency including availability of necessary spare parts and maximum delivery time thereof, access to repair and maintenance information, information requirements for refrigerant gases, requirements for disassembly for the purpose of repair and for material recovery and recycling; functional requirements, in particular cleaning and drying efficiency and information requirements. In accordance with Ecodesign Directive 2009/125/EC, household dishwashers not meeting these requirements will not be allowed to be placed on the EU market. The draft Regulation is based on the findings of technical, environmental and economic studies and takes into account the opinions of the different stakeholders.
