EU seek to removes the A+ to A+++ classes from the existing energy label for household refrigerating appliances and requires suppliers to upload the label data

European Commission proposes Delegated Regulation establishes requirements for the energy labelling and the provision of product information of refrigerating appliances. In particular, it removes the A+ to A+++ classes from the existing energy label for household refrigerating appliances and requires suppliers to upload the label data, the product information sheet and technical documentation into a product registration database before products can be placed on the EU market.

Proposed date of adoption: First quarter of 2019

Proposed date of entry into force: 20 days from publication in the Official Journal of the EU. The provisions shall apply from April 2021. Articles 3(1)(a) and (b) shall apply from 1 December 2020.

Final date for comments: 60 days from notification
