Thailand proposed Gas Warm Water Devices and Gas Hot Water Heaters are a Commodity Subject to a Controlled Label Office of the Consumer Protection Board (OCPB) proposed Announcement of the Committee on Labelling No. … (B.E. …): Gas warm water devices and gas hot water heaters are a commodity subject to a controlled label including definition of gas water heater and instantaneous gas water heater and label contents as follows: - "Gas water heater" means device designated to heat the water by gas combustion for the use in body cleaning or other equivalent usages.
- "Instantaneous gas water heater" means device designated to heat the water by gas combustion to a temperature approaching or slightly exceeding the boiling point for the use in body cleaning or other equivalent usages.
- Gas water heater and instantaneous gas water heater under labelling control must comply with Clause 1 to Clause 3 of the Announcement of the Committee on Labelling: Characteristics of Labels Subject to the Labelling Control B.E. 2541(1998) dated 23 September B.E. 2541(1998), and the label must contain the following information:
- Instruction must contain the statement “Should be installed outside building. If installed inside, a ventilator must be equipped”
- Warning must contain the statement “Danger of death if installed in a room without ventilation”
- The front of the warning shall be in red, clearly legible and in a size not smaller than 5 millimetres. The warning shall be fixed on the front of gas water heater and instantaneous gas water heater and shall be permanently displayed on the product.
