Mozambique proposed regulation for the hygiene and sanitary controls of Aquatic food products Ministry of Sea Inland Water and Fisheries National Institute of Fish Inspection proposed General Regulation for the Hygiene and Sanitary Controls of Aquatic Food Products is being reviewed with the aim of adapting to the new Fisheries Law in force. It permits the Fish Inspection to carry out proper and fully its mission and skills, including the need for collaboration with other government institutions and harmonization with international legislation. This Regulation applies for all fishery products, derivatives and by-products, aquatic food and feed for aquatic organisms of aquaculture which are intended for human consumption, produced from fishery products caught in the national territory, in third countries or in international waters, within the country or using the country as transit, in order to ensure the food safety. The fishery products, their derivatives and by-products, aquatic food products, and feed for aquatic organisms of aquaculture which are intended for human consumption to be imported must meet sanitary requirements and hygiene of this Regulation and other applicable legal provisions.
