Uganda proposed Specification for Drinking Water Uganda National Bureau of Standards proposed following: 1) DUS 2088: 2018, Standard test methods for filterable matter (total dissolved solids) and non-filterable matter (total suspended solids) in water- Uganda standard specifies test methods for the determination of filterable matter, total dissolved solids (TDS), and nonfilterable matter, total suspended solids (TSS), in drinking, surface, and saline waters, domestic and industrial wastes. The practical range of the determination of nonfilterable particulate matter (TSS) is 4 to 20 000 mg/l. Products covered: Drinking water HS code: 220110 2) DUS 2087: 2018, Standard Test Method for Purgeable Organic Compounds in Water Using Headspace Sampling - Uganda standard specifies a method for the determination of most purgeable organic compounds in drinking water that boil below 200°C and are less than 2% soluble in water. It covers the low μg/L to low mg/L concentration range. This test method was developed for the analysis of drinking water. It is also applicable to many environmental and waste waters when validation, consisting of recovering known concentrations of compounds of interest added to representative matrices, is included. Products covered: Drinking water HS code: 2201 3) DUS 2089: 2018, Standard Test Method for Uranium in Drinking Water by High-Resolution Alpha-Liquid-Scintillation Spectrometry- Uganda standard specifies a test method for the determination of total soluble uranium activity in drinking water in the range of 0.037 Bq/l (1 pCi/l) or greater by selective solvent extraction and high-resolution alpha-liquid-scintillation spectrometry. The energy resolution obtainable with this technique also allows estimation of the 238U to 234U activity ratio.
